Kennedy-King College is currently seeking a part-time Faculty to teach Game Design during the Spring Semester 2026. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in the classroom by developing and using effective teaching strategies that meet students’ diverse needs and engage the student in critical thinking and problem-solving.
DUTIES
- Develop a course syllabus, and utilize student-learning outcomes to guide course instruction;
- Prepare, deliver and facilitate class lectures and discussions to students on topics related to course objectives and student learning outcomes;
- Developing inquiry-based experiments and other approaches to improve student engagement and student retention
- Evaluate student work/performance; log student participation (i.e. attendance); and develop assessment instruments to measure student learning and other resources necessary to support classroom instruction, etc;
- Compile, administer, and grade examinations; evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, and papers;
- Record and submit grades electronically using the college’s database;
- Utilize instructional technology;
- Hold office hours for student conferences and other instructional support needs;
- Mentor students in their academic journey
- Complete all mandatory midterm/final grading and active pursuit certifications required by the college;
- Navigate and make use of a Learning Management System (LMS) to support classroom instruction;
- Administer programmatic evaluations;
- Assess student learning, and utilize data to make instructional decisions;
- Attend departmental/college-wide meetings;
- Participate in various department and or college-wide activities or committees
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in Game Design, Game Dev, Computer Sci, Interactive Media, Digital Arts, or a closely related field OR Master’s degree in another field plus 18 graduate credit hours in game design, programming, graphics, or related courses
- Professional experience (e.g., 1–3+ years) in game development, production, or related technology
- Demonstrated ability with game engines (Unity, Unreal, etc.), (C#, C++, Python, scripting), art/animation tools, and design methodology
- Strong knowledge of assessment and the role it plays in the teaching and learning environment.
- Time Management and Task Management Skills
- Collaborative, Team, and Goal-Oriented
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

The starting salary for this position is $800.00 - $943.00 per contact hour. The rate paid is in accordance with City Colleges approved salary scale.
