Adjunct/Part-time Faculty - ASL
Job Description
The Montgomery College Department of Humanities is currently accepting applications for a possible opening as a part-time faculty member teaching courses in ASLP. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated instructor who exhibits a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our students and demonstrates the ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Teach assigned courses related to history
- Teach a varied schedule of courses that may include day, night, weekend, late starting and/or accelerated sections
- Teach at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring campus
- Incorporate relevant and empathetic pedagogies to the teaching and learning process
- Incorporate relevant technologies such as Blackboard into instruction
Required Qualifications:
- Masters degree in ASL or a closely related discipline
- Knowledge of and commitment to the community college philosophy and mission
- Ability to integrate technology into course delivery.
- Ability to teach in a multicultural setting
- Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in ASL or a related discipline
For degrees earned outside of the U.S., a copy of your education equivalency, conducted by a nationally recognized evaluation service, must be included in your application.
Employees must live in Maryland or a state where the College has payroll reciprocity (DC, VA, PA, WV, DE, MA).
