Position description
The University of California, Davis, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is recruiting for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant/Associate level in the clinician/teaching series to serve as a licensed clinical psychologist in the adult Behavioral Health Clinic or BHC. The BHC is an academic outpatient psychiatry clinic serving the greater Northern California region and a diverse patient population. Our clinical staff consists of psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, psychologists, and trainees including medical students, psychiatry residents and fellows, and clinical psychology interns/postdoctoral fellows. We take a team-based approach to mental health treatment and work closely with the rest of the health system including primary care physicians and medical specialists.
The position includes a combination of direct clinical care and supervising and teaching psychiatry trainees. Teaching and supervisory experience of psychiatry residents, fellows, and medical students is preferred. Time is allocated for didactic teaching and supervision. In addition, the applicant will engage in scholarly or creative activities derived from and in support of their clinical teaching, professional, and service activities. Opportunities for involvement in established research programs may be available.
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences has approximately 65 residents in six residency training programs and 90 faculty and staff psychiatrists and psychologists at the UC Davis Medical Center and the Northern California VA Health System.
