Assistant Director for York Country Day School and York College Parents
The Assistant Director for York Country Day School and York College Parents plays a key role in strengthening philanthropic support by building relationships across two vital communities: York Country Day School and York College of PA's parent base. With a 50/50 focus, this position drives fundraising strategies and donor engagement for both areas, advancing mission-aligned giving and long-term growth.
The role is divided equally between developing and executing giving efforts for the YCDS community (50%) and enhancing engagement and fundraising among YCP parents (50%). Success in this role will be measured by increased donor participation, growth in annual fund revenue, and the deepening of meaningful, lasting connections across both educational settings.

Relationship Building & Donor Engagement (35%):
- Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, volunteers, and community members to foster a culture of philanthropy.
- Serve as the primary liaison to parent donors, cultivating long-term commitment and giving.
- Create and implement tailored engagement plans for parent constituencies, including personalized outreach, communications, and stewardship.
- Design, launch, and manage a Parent Advisory Council at York College for donors contributing $1,000+, offering leadership opportunities and ongoing communication with school leadership.
- Organize and facilitate Parent Advisory Council meetings and activities to enhance connection and strategic insight.
- Partner with the Assistant Director of Donor Relations to ensure timely acknowledgments and personalized recognition for all giving levels.
Fundraising Strategy & Execution (35%):
- Develop and lead comprehensive fundraising strategies for both: York Country Day School (in collaboration with the VP of Advancement), and YCP parent constituencies (current parents and parents of alumni).
- Ensure strategies align with institutional priorities and drive both annual and long-term revenue growth.
- Conduct proactive discovery work to identify, research, and qualify major gift prospects for both communities.
- Identify, qualify, cultivate, and solicit prospects for annual, leadership, and major gifts.
- Track and analyze giving trends among parent populations; apply data-driven insights to adapt and optimize strategies.
- Partner with the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations to strengthen corporate relationships and philanthropic support.
Content Creation & Communications (15%):
- Lead the development of fundraising content for YCDS appeals—including theme creation, copywriting, and design for direct mail, email, and social media—and collaborate with the Director of Advancement Communications to ensure effective execution.
- Create tailored communications for parent donor engagement and recognition.
Event Management and Support (15%):
- Plan and execute all aspects of York Country Day School's Day of Giving (Houndsgiving).
- Coordinate and execute other fundraising and alumni events for YCDS.
- Organize engagement opportunities for YCP parents, including Parent Advisory Council events and school-wide philanthropic initiatives.
Bachelor's degree required. 1-2 years' experience, preferred background in managing a high-level donor portfolio, ideally within education or family philanthropy.
