Assistant Director of Operations, Undergraduate Admissions
Job Summary
The Assistant Director of Operations, Undergraduate Admissions, supervises a team who evaluates and processes over 10,000 undergraduate applications to Augusta University per year. This includes monitoring and evaluating the GPA and transcript evaluation and decision processing as well as working with academic colleges to understand their admissions decisioning needs. The Assistant Director oversees the tuition classification process for all applicants, including communicating with students and evaluating various tax and legal documents, based on University System of Georgia policies. The Assistant Director generates reports and queries to provide data and transparency throughout the GPA and transcript evaluation process for all undergraduate student types, contributing to university enrollment goals.
Responsibilities
- OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT: Lead the efforts for GPA and transcript evaluation and decision-making processes for all undergraduate applications by managing team members, monitoring daily decision processes, and working with academic departments/leaders to ensure admissions decisions are consistent and adhere to university and USG policies. Perform regular audits on GPA and transcript evaluations and admission decisions. Monitor data integrity and consistency between CRM and SIS.
- SUPERVISION: Recruit, select, train, and supervise a team of two staff members within the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, conducting performance evaluations, goal setting, time and leave compliance, and essential project management, including performing daily quality control checks on document and data entry in both the CRM and SIS for all undergraduate students, according to established procedures.
- TUITION CLASSIFICATION: Utilize University System of Georgia (USG) and Board of Regents (BOR) policies to determine tuition classification and waiver eligibility for more than 1,500 incoming student populations each academic year. Request and evaluate legal documentation from students, as needed, for eligibility. Maintain up-to-date knowledge on tuition classification and waiver policies for eligibility.
- REPORTING AND PROCESS IMPROVEMENT: Generate required or requested information and/or data for all undergraduate applications, internal or external reports and records, and organizing and presenting the information in a usable and understandable format. Assist the Associate Director of Operations in effective training on departmental procedures and policies, making appropriate work assignments.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of two years of experience related to processing and operations in a higher educational setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference given to individuals with experience in Technolutions Slate CRM, BANNER SIS, reporting systems, transfer articulation or other student information systems. Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

KNOWLEDGE
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills.
ABILITIES
Ability to maintain confidentiality. Willingness to learn Slate CRM, Axiom, and Banner SIS. Willingness to learn USG Tuition Classification policies and procedures. Willingness to learn third party system that support AU efforts (test scores, Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE), Transfer Evaluation Systems). Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of people. Demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively solve problems and initiate and implement projects independently.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; M-F (Work outside of the regular business hours may be required). Pay Band: B10. Salary: $52,500/annually. Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position. Recruitment Period: Until Filled. Augusta University offers a variety of benefits to full-time benefits-eligible employees and some of our half-time (or more) employees. All selected candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review prior to starting with Augusta University. If applicable for the specific position based on the duties: the candidate will also need to have a credit check completed for Positions of Trust and or approved departmental Purchase Card usage. Motor vehicle reports are required for positions that are required to drive an Augusta University vehicle. For Faculty Hires: Final candidates will be required to provide proof of completed academic degree(s) as well as post-secondary coursework in the form of original transcript(s). Those candidates trained by a foreign institution will also be required to provide an educational/credential evaluation.
