Central Connecticut State University invites applications to join the Undergraduate Advising department as a full-time Assistant Director of Undergraduate Advising. About CCSU’s Undergraduate Advising

Academic advising at Central is an ongoing collaboration between undergraduates and our professional academic and faculty advisors. Every semester, students have the ability to meet with their advisor to make sure they are where they want to be on their academic journey. Advisors will help to ensure that course selections for the upcoming semester fulfill University requirements and keep our students on track to complete their degree.

Position Profile

The Assistant Director of Undergraduate Advising delivers comprehensive advising for students; ensures successful articulation of transfer credits; and contributes toward the University’s goals of increased student satisfaction, retention, and graduation rates. Assistant Directors operate in school-based advising centers or Explore Central.

Applicant Evaluative Criteria

Applicant profiles and supplementary materials will be evaluated for appointment based on the following:

Education:

All applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

Experience and Training:

  • Three (3) years of experience in relevant advising and/or student support services areas,
  • Experience working with a variety of student populations and advising students in professional degree programs.
  • Experience with web-based technology including, but not limited to, student information databases such as Banner.
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, and an ability to multitask.

Credentials and/or experience substantially comparable to the above may also be considered.

Ideal Candidate

Preference will be given to applicants with the following:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution.

Compensation and Employee Benefits

The Assistant Director of Undergraduate Advising is compensated at the Administrator III salary level in accordance with the State University Organization of Administrative Faculty (SUOAF) Collective Bargaining Union Agreement.
