"Biomanufacturing Strategy Manager - Grade 9"

This role is part of the BRITE (Biologics Regional Innovation and Technology Ecosystem) programme – a £5m cross-sector partnership (led by LSTM with UoL, LJMU, Edge Hill, AstraZeneca, Unilever, etc.) to establish Liverpool as a global leader in biologics innovation and manufacturing. You will co-lead Work Package 2 (WP2) on biomanufacturing feasibility, immunotoxicity and formulation stability, liaising across universities and industry to deliver key WP2 objectives.

You will be an integral part of the Immunocompatibility Group, led by Professor Neill Liptrott, working closely under his supervision and direction, and collaborating with Professor Liptrott, the National Measurement Laboratory, and other senior researchers to align WP2 deliverables with the broader group objectives. Engagement with the broader Immunocompatibility Group, including PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and technical staff, facilitates knowledge exchange, mentoring junior colleagues, and contributing to a collaborative research environment.

You will also routinely liaise with other BRITE Work Package leads and the Programme Director, and will represent WP2 at BRITE Steering Committee meetings. The position is at the University’s Grade 9 (Professional, Management and Specialist) level. Accordingly, the role requires senior-level responsibilities and strategic impact: delivering key programmes of work, shaping direction, and managing resources and staff. Candidates should demonstrate the leadership, autonomy and broad perspective expected of a Grade 9 role.

This post is fixed term until September 2028.
