Dean, College of Law

Established in 1912, the College of Law is Saskatchewan’s only law school and a cornerstone of the province’s legal community, offering a collaborative and nationally connected academic environment. Renowned for producing influential leaders across the legal profession, judiciary, public service, and academia, the College combines a rich research culture and rigorous academic training with experiential learning through clinics, externships, and advocacy programs that prepare theoretically and practically grounded graduates. With distinctive offerings such as French Common Law programming and nationally significant Indigenous legal education through the Indigenous Law Centre, the College delivers an inclusive, forward-looking education. As the University enters a period of institutional renewal under new presidential leadership, the College is well positioned to build on its strong foundation and shape its next chapter of impact and growth.

Reporting to the Provost and Vice-President Academic, the Dean provides strategic and innovative leadership to the College as its chief academic and administrative officer. The Dean works in collaboration with academic leaders, senior administrators and staff, and other key stakeholders to implement and proactively advance the University of Saskatchewan’s Strategic Plan and promote and advance the College within USask and with key partners regionally, nationally, and internationally.

Candidates with a relevant advanced degree and an exemplary academic record as an educator and researcher are invited to apply. Prior performance at the senior academic level is required with preference given to candidates holding the rank of full professor. The successful candidate will have demonstrated administrative and leadership experience with superior relationship-building skills. Demonstrated success in developing and implementing a vision and leading people to achieve exceptional performance and outcomes is essential.
