Director of the Centre of Cardiovascular Surgery and Transplantations and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University announces a selection procedure for the position a Department Head for:

Department of Cardiovascular Surgery and Transplantations

Department of Cardiovascular Surgery and Transplantations is an educational and research facility of the CKTCH and the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University. It is primarily engaged in scientific and research activities in the field of cardiovascular surgery and participates in both undergraduate and postgraduate education of medical and non-medical healthcare professionals.

The candidate for the position of Head of the Clinic must be a respected expert in the field of cardiovascular surgery, with relevant professional experience and experience in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The Head of the Clinic will be responsible for the management of the clinic, undergraduate education of students, postgraduate training, publication activities, and coordination of the clinic’s scientific and research activities. During the selection procedure, the candidate for the position of Head will be expected to present their vision for fulfilling the above-mentioned responsibilities.

Requirements for a declared position:

• University degree in General Medicine or an equivalent qualification obtained abroad
• Eligibility for independent medical practice in the relevant field in accordance with § 5 of Act No. 95/2004 Coll.
• Academic degree Ph.D. or scientific title CSc.
• Habilitation in accordance with the Higher Education Act, as amended, or the expectation of its achievement in the near future (within 1–3 years)
• Personal and professional qualifications for managing the medical and academic team of the clinic
• Teaching experience and readiness to guarantee professional courses taught at the department
• Scientific and publication activity in the field
• Active knowledge of Czech and English
• Moral and civic integrity
• Fulfilment of the requirements under Act No. 451/1991 Coll.; this does not apply to persons born after December 1, 1971, and to foreign applicants.
