The Databases and Information Systems group at Freie Universität Berlin addresses both application-oriented and fundamental research questions in the areas of modeling and algorithm design for data management and event-based systems. With the advent of mobile devices, the focus has shifted to location-based services. The group works closely with Fraunhofer FOKUS, where Prof. Dr. Agnès Voisard is responsible for strategic development in the competence center "Electronic Safety and Security Systems for the Public and Industries (ESPRI)."
Responsibilities:
Participation in research and teaching in the Databases and Information Systems working group, with a focus on geodata management and event-based systems. Teaching typically involves supervising exercises and/or seminars. The position serves the purpose of furthering one's academic qualifications (doctoral studies).
Requirements:
Completed university degree (or equivalent) in computer science (Master) or comparable qualification
(Professional) experience:
practical experience in university teaching is desirable
Desired:
- very good knowledge of databases and information systems
- good knowledge of the design, development and implementation of software systems
- knowledge of spatial database systems, event-based systems and mobility is desirable
- excellent written and spoken German and English skills
- Gender and diversity knowledge
