The Institute of Greek and Latin Philology is home to scholars who study Greek and Latin texts from antiquity to the present day. The Chair of Latin Philology is dedicated to Latinity in its entirety, in literature and science, philosophy and intellectual history, in the form of Latin texts and their echoes in popular culture, from antiquity to 1900.
Responsibilities:
Participation in teaching and research in the field of Latin and Medieval Latin philology with a focus on the history of philosophy (antiquity to the early modern period) for co-opting courses at the Institute of Philosophy;
participation in academic self-administration: course planning, assisting the professor, advising students on study and examination regulations, supporting external and FU students on Erasmus exchanges through our department, maintaining the website, event organization (weekly research colloquiums, academic workshops and conferences if necessary).
There is a teaching obligation in accordance with the teaching obligation regulations.
Requirements:
completed academic university degree (Magister/Master/Diploma/State Examination) in Classical Philology and Philosophy.
(Professional) experience:
academic teaching (planning and conducting courses and various forms of examination).
Desired:
Interest in the history of philosophy and science in the Middle Ages and the modern era.
Language skills: German and English C1, French B2
