The position is advertised within the framework of the European Research Council (ERC)-funded project "Experimental Replication of Historical Reanalysis Processes" (EXREAN). The project investigates processes of semantic change in the grammars of Romance languages (French, Italian, and Spanish) using psycholinguistic experiments. Area of responsibility:
• Research in the field of Romance linguistics with the aim of obtaining a doctorate on the topic of grammaticalization in a Romance language
• Collaboration on the EXREAN research project
• Administrative support for the EXREAN research project (public relations, experiment design, etc.)
Requirements:
completed academic degree (MA) in Romance linguistics or a related discipline.
Desired:
• Very good knowledge of modern linguistic theory with a focus on historical linguistics
• Very good knowledge of grammatical and pragmatic theories
• Very good knowledge of corpus linguistic methods and experience in this field
• Very good skills in one or more Romance languages (linguistic description and practical language skills)
• Willingness to conduct relevant experimental research or to familiarize yourself with it
• Basic statistical analysis skills in R or willingness to familiarize yourself with suitable statistical analyses
