The Institute of Theatre Studies is a multidisciplinary institute. It combines the departments of Theatre and Dance Studies, Musicology, Film Studies, and Cultural and Media Management. Various bachelor's and master's degree programs are offered within these disciplines. The institute is integrated into a comprehensive interdisciplinary and international research field, which includes various graduate schools, collaborative research centers, and a research group. The institute also houses its own specialist library, a media archive, and extensive estates in its theatre history collections. The position is located in the Department of Musicology. Research and teaching focus on interdisciplinary, theory-oriented, and historically broad approaches to Western musical culture.
Area of responsibility:
- Collaboration in research and organization in the field of musicology
- Teaching in the Bachelor's program in Theater Studies and in the Master's program in Musicology "Music, Sound, Performance"
- Collaboration in the organization and further development of the Master's program in Musicology
- Collaboration in the development of a third-party funded research project

Requirements for employment:
completed university degree (Master's degree) in musicology, alternatively a Master's thesis on a music-related topic in theater studies or another humanities subject.
Desired:
- Focus on interdisciplinary and historical musicology
- Research experience in the field of music and media and/or ethnomusicology
- Ability to work in a team
- Very good English skills (C1)
- Experience in project organization and scientific editing of texts
