The Institute of Immunology at the Department of Veterinary Medicine in the Center for Infectious Medicine is concerned with the immunological analysis of host-pathogen interactions with a focus on infections in the intestine and the migration of pathogens through the host organism.
Field of work:
- Implementation of a DFG third-party funded project on “Memory responses against helminth infections”
- Infection studies in animal models
- Analysis of the survival and reactivation of memory cells
- Characterization of the immunological environment of the tissue for the storage of memory cells
Requirements:
Completed university degree in life sciences (Master's degree); doctorate.
Desired:
Handling of laboratory animals and training according to FELASA guidelines; experience in handling pigs and mice; extensive experience with immunological working methods (especially FACS); extensive experience in conducting and analyzing animal infection models as well as in vitro work with infectious agents; extensive experience in working with adaptive and innate immune cells; good and confident communication skills in English.
