College/Department Information
Parking and Transportation implements the universitys parking plan and manages vehicle registration, permit issuance, lot enforcement, fine collection, citation appeal, lot scheduling for special events, and guest parking permit issuance. We also provide campus shuttle services and bus charters for student organizations and university departments.
Job Summary
This position performs daily enforcement of parking rules and regulations. This officer uses electronic hand-held ticket writing equipment and License Plate Recognition equipment to assist in performing enforcement duties. As necessary, the officer installs and removes vehicle immobilization equipment on vehicles with excessive outstanding citations and/or fines. The officer also supports special events on campus using barricade equipment, parking cones, and various signs.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Patrol assigned areas for compliance with parking rules and regulations. Issue citations and/or warnings for violations as necessary and appropriate using hand-held electronic ticket writer. As required, use License Plate Recognition equipment for enforcement tasks.
- Install vehicle immobilization equipment [boot] after verifying that a vehicle meets the criteria for immobilization. Respond to calls for reserved space violations and install while awaiting arrival of tow vehicle.
- Support special event activity on campus as required for parking access. Control using cones, barricades, and appropriate signs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization. Must be 18 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience: A parking professional certification. CDL. At least 3 years' experience in a university setting.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES: Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases. Attention to detail. Ability to achieve high levels of productivity. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F. Pay Band: 1. Salary: Minimum $15.00/hour - $16.55/hour. Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position. Recruitment Period: 8/26/25 - Until Filled.
