We are seeking a visionary senior leader to join us as QUT’s next Executive Dean, Faculty of Business and Law. This key executive appointment is responsible for leading the Faculty’s strategic direction, academic excellence, and operational performance. This role also contributes to university-wide leadership as a member of QUT’s Executive Leadership Team.
As Executive Dean, you will bring strategic insight, financial and operational capability and a strong commitment to innovation and collaboration. You will be committed to fostering innovation in teaching, learning and research alongside strengthening QUT’s global reputation through impactful engagement with industry, government and the wider community.

About you
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- A PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline with a distinguished record of teaching and research which is recognised at a national or international level.
- Proven ability to develop and implement institutional strategies, shape organisational culture, and drive transformation in an academic setting.
- Demonstrated success in enhancing academic programs, driving research excellence, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration to advance faculty and institutional priorities.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing large budgets, resource allocation, and revenue diversification to ensure sustainable growth and operational excellence.
- Experience leading international accreditation processes and advancing the global standing of a faculty or institution through education, research, and policy impact.
- Demonstrated ability to introduce and lead innovation, across learning, teaching and research.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills, with an ability to represent QUT at the highest levels nationally and internationally, and build strategic relationships with government, industry and professional bodies.
- Sound knowledge of equal employment opportunity and equity principles and of the principles of health safety and environment with a demonstrated commitment to implementation at both the strategic and operational levels.
