Faculty Position in Graphic Design

Lander University

The Position: The Department of Media and Design at Lander University seeks applicants for a full-time faculty position in Graphic Design, beginning August 10, 2026.

Teaching specialization is open, but responsibilities include introductory and upper-level undergraduate courses in graphic design, mentoring individual senior exhibition projects and portfolio development, supervising internships, and advising students for success. Ideal candidates will demonstrate high quality teaching and be ready to collaborate on efforts in recruitment, retention, and overall growth of the Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) program. They must be excellent communicators, collaborators, and teachers able to work effectively with a diverse student population.

This position has opportunities for promotion. Faculty rank, tenure track status, salary, and service duties will be commensurate with experience. Lander supports on-going training in teaching excellence for faculty.

The Department and University: Lander University is proud to be NASAD accredited. The Department offers a BDes. in Graphic Design and expects to add a transfer-friendly BA in Graphic Design in the 2026-27 academic year. The Department of Media and Design is part of Lander University’s College of Business and Technology and collaborates closely with the other units of the college: the School of Business and the Department of Applied Computing. Located in the Upstate of South Carolina, Lander is a public comprehensive university committed to teaching in a liberal arts environment. Requirements: Applicants must have earned a terminal degree (MFA or equivalent) in graphic design, visual communication and media, or related field or possess a combination of educational qualifications and industry experience.
