Human Resources Manager
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing the College's human resources functions, including benefit inquiries, workers' compensation claims, and employee relations. This role requires a strategic thinker who can align HR initiatives with the college's goals and foster a supportive workplace environment. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with both systems and people. This role requires balancing multiple priorities.
Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures in line with best practices
- Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as the college's internal policies
- Coordinates the College's Employee Benefits and Wellness Programs
- Foster positive employee engagement through effective communication and support
- Responsible for annual reporting and tracking systems
- Maintain accurate HR records, employee files, and HR databases
- Mentorship of student work staff
Requirements
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with discretion
- Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources management, preferably in an educational institution
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
