Description

The Department of Management in the Gary W. Rollins College of Business at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is accepting applications for a non-tenure track lecturer position to begin August 1, 2026. This position is a one-year appointment that is renewable annually based on satisfactory performance and budget. Responsibilities include teaching four classes per semester. In addition, lecturers are expected to:

  • Maintain access to students through posted office hours and electronic communication.
  • Attend college orientation and required institutional, college and departmental meetings.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to student engagement, student success, and instructional excellence.
  • Exhibit a commitment to lifelong learning through active participation in professional activities sufficient to maintain appropriate qualifications under AACSB standards.
  • Demonstrate willingness to assist the UTC campus in its ability to reach additional goals as specified in UTC’s Strategic Plan, including a demonstrable commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will possess a Master of Business Administration or Master of Science in a closely related field. Additionally, ideal candidates will:

  • Have demonstrated teaching effectiveness in Principles of Management and Business and Society. Ability to teach additional courses such as organizational behavior and managing change is preferred.
  • Have relevant professional work experience in management.
  • Be able to teach a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule at various times between 8 am and 4pm in a variety of instructional modalities, including online instruction.

Preference will be given to applicants who apply before March 1, 2026. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Initial interviews will be conducted via Zoom. Candidates invited for on-campus interviews will be required to give a teaching presentation.

The College of Business at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga received the largest philanthropic gift in the history of UTC from Gary W. Rollins and Kathleen Rollins of Atlanta. The $40 million gift established the Rollins College of Business as the first named college at UTC. The Rollins College of Business has approximately 2,000 undergraduate students in accounting, business analytics, economics, entrepreneurship, finance, human resource management, marketing, and management, and over 300 graduate students in the MBA, Master of Science in Management, Master of Science in Data Analytics, and Master of Accountancy programs. The college also offers minors in business administration, economics, entrepreneurship, personal finance, promotion, and sales. The Rollins College of Business is organized into five Departments (Accounting, Finance and Economics, Management, Data Analytics, and Marketing and Entrepreneurship) with more than 60 full-time faculty. The Decosimo Success Center in the RCOB provides outstanding support to students in the areas of academic advisement, experiential learning, internships, and career development.
