Pest Control Worker
Job Summary
Perform duties associated with the control of pests.
Responsibilities
Typical Allocation of Duties:
- Perform pest control and eradication duties - 50%: Apply or release chemical solutions or gases and set traps to kill or remove pests from buildings and surrounding areas.
- Conduct inspections and respond to requests - 25%: Conduct inspections in order to determine pest control needs. Responds to requests for pest control services.
- Maintain inventory - 10%: Maintain inventory of equipment, tools, chemicals, and other supplies.
- Develop and implement schedules - 10%: Develop and implement preventative pest control schedules.
- Complete reports and maintain records - 5%: Complete reports and maintain pest control and chemical use records.
Supervisor Expectations: To be successful in this position, the candidate should possess or be ready to obtain a Category 35 Commercial Pesticide Applicator License. Additional duties include inspecting fire extinguishers (monthly), testing emergency phones (monthly), inspecting elevators (monthly), testing emergency lighting (monthly), checking the status of fire alarm systems (monthly), testing eyewashes and safety showers located in chemical areas (weekly), monitoring campus areas for safety concerns while conducting normal duties (daily), and on-call duty alternated with the other pest control worker on a weekly basis.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma and one (1) year of related work experience.
Proposed Salary
$22.22/hr.
