  • Remuneration: $158,080 to $165,606 pa (HEW9) (inclusive of $133,579 to $139,939 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
  • Location: Kelvin Grove (hybrid option available)

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Principal Consultant, Communications to join Digital Business Solutions, Administrative Division.

The Principal Consultant, Communications is a vital member of the Digital Business Solutions team, who will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive and effective internal communication strategies. The position will work closely with the Associate Director, Digital Business Operations and other key stakeholders to deliver information about the departments goals, initiatives, and changes. The Principal Consultant, Communications will create engaging content for a variety of internal communication channels, lead regular communication meetings, and special projects as required. The role is responsible for monitoring and measuring the impact of internal communications and adjusting strategies to ensure maximum effectiveness across the department. The Principal Consultant, Communications will play a key role in employee engagement, helping to foster a positive work environment and strengthening employee understanding of QUT’s culture, values, and mission. The position will assist in crisis management and change management communications, ensuring that employees are promptly informed about critical issues and changes within DBS.

What you need to succeed

  1. Education, training, and/or relevant experience equivalent to postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience in a Communications Lead role.
  2. Demonstrated excellence in strategic and workload planning, utilising communications to align and inform all staff of organisational objectives.
  3. Proven high-level verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively consult, liaise and deliver critical points clearly to multiple stakeholder groups at all levels.
  4. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement comprehensive communications strategies and plans as well as resources, tools and processes to support their implementation and subsequent measures of success.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team with a proven ability to build relationships, collaborate, negotiate, influence and gain commitment from stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
  6. Demonstrated high level digital literacy skills including proven understanding and experience working SharePoint and Microsoft Office 365 personal and enterprise productivity suites.
