The Technical University of Munich (TUM) is seeking to fill the position of professor (f/m/d) for "computational methods in civil and environmental engineering" in salary group W3 associate/full professor as soon as possible.

Scientific environment

The professorship will be assigned to the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the TUM School of Engineering and Design.

Tasks

Responsibilities include research and teaching, as well as the supervision and promotion of young researchers. We are seeking an expert in the research area of computational methods in civil and environmental engineering, with a focus on the development of computational methods. These include numerical methods for simulating meso- and macroscale processes, methods for modeling environmental processes, and methods for combining data- and physics-driven modeling. Teaching responsibilities include participation in the degree programs civil and environmental engineering, computational mechanics, and information technologies for the built environment.

Qualifications

We are looking for a person who can demonstrate outstanding achievements, in line with the relevant career level, in research and teaching in an internationally recognized scientific environment (further information can be found at www.tum.de/faq-berufungen/).

A university degree, an above-average doctorate, or comparable special qualifications for academic work and exceptional pedagogical aptitude are also required. International research experience is also expected, as is proven ability and experience in research and science management, as well as a demonstrated willingness to acquire and manage cooperative research projects (DFG, EU, etc.) and to acquire third-party funding.
