RESEARCH ASSISTANT, School of Public Health, Epidemiology
The Department of Epidemiology is seeking a Research Assistant (RA) to support the day-to-day operations of the Pregnancy Study Online (PRESTO) at the Boston University School of Public Health. Specific responsibilities will include managing all contacts with study subjects; tracing lost subjects; coordinating participant compensation; overseeing biospecimen collection kit and shipment supplies; monitoring success of advertising; updating the study website; performing quality control; performing literature reviews; assisting with mailings and subject tracking for validation study and sub studies (E-PRESTO, home pregnancy tests, semen collection); monitoring biospecimen collection and coordinating sample shipments; overseeing the organization and storage of biospecimen samples in PRESTO freezers; organizing research meetings, drafting meeting minutes; maintaining up-to-date IRB applications and study protocols; and drafting grant progress reports. The RA will also assist Principal Investigators with basic administrative tasks, including booking of travel, processing of travel and meeting expenses, grant writing, conference preparation, and manuscript submission. This is an in-person (on-site) position.
Required Skills
A bachelor's degree with 1-3 years of experience and proficiency in Word, Access, and Excel is required. A background in the natural sciences (e.g., biology, chemistry) or public health is strongly preferred.

Salary Grade: Grade 44
Expected Hiring Range: $20.13 - $25.40
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training and internal pay comparison. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
