Senior Education Manager

The Department of Computer Science and Technology is an academic department that encompasses computer science along with many aspects of engineering, technology and mathematics. We have a world-wide reputation for academic research with consistently high research ratings, with around 340 academic staff, research associates, and PhD students actively engaged in research projects within the department. We are seeking a Senior Education Manager to act as the administrative lead for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Education in the Department. In this role you will oversee the day-to-day delivery of our education operations and line-manage the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Education Managers. A key part of the role will be supporting collaboration between the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Education teams, to help strengthen coordination and consistency across our education provision. You will also contribute to shaping the strategic direction of our education policy and processes, working closely with the Secretary of the Department and with the Directors of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Education.

Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will take an active role in the major administrative processes that support our educational programmes, such as examinations and the annual postgraduate admissions and funding cycle. You will also review and identify improvements to our administrative structures and systems to help streamline our operations.

The ideal candidate will join us with proven experience of senior administration within higher education, along with excellent organisational and communication skills. You will be educated to a degree, postgraduate level, or level 7 vocational qualifications, or equivalent level of practical experience.
