Skilled Trade Mechanic I
Job Summary
Install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot skilled trade building systems such as electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and steam. Incumbent possesses extensive (3+ years) skilled trade experience (commercial preferred) and has licensure/certification to perform work on a skilled trade system.
Responsibilities
Typical Allocation of Duties:
- Install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot - 50%: Install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot a specific skilled trade building system such as electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and steam.
- Preventative maintenance - 30%: Perform preventative maintenance in accordance with established schedules and protocols.
- Monitor system operations - 10%: Monitor skilled trade system operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness and to make operational adjustments as needed.
- Prioritize and coordinate - 10%: Prioritizes and coordinates the activities of technicians and helpers engaged in skilled trade services.
Supervisor Expectations:
- Performs preventive and corrective maintenance to HVAC equipment corresponding to work orders generated from a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Complete all documentation in compliance with the CMMS data collection process.
- Installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration units.
- Installation and maintenance of fan coil units and air handling units including filter changes, periodic lubrication, bearing change out and drive belt replacement.
- Installation and maintenance of exhaust fans and associated controls, hot water, chilled water and domestic water circulating pump; rebuilds pumps as required.
- Performs maintenance and repair of direct expansion, roof top package air conditioning with hot water, electric or gas heating, chillers and associated control devices.
- Performs fabrication and installation of minor sheets metal work and ducting.
- Maintains equipment rooms, shops, vehicles and tools.
- Willing and able to work rotating on-call shifts.
- Report to work during emergency situations as requested by your supervisor.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on completed assignments.
Required Qualifications
Required Experience: High school diploma and three (3) years of related work experience. Must possess a valid driver's license. Trade specific certification and/or licensure required.
Proposed Salary
$25.12/hr.
