The Speech-Language Pathology Division in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Central Michigan University (CMU) is recruiting for one full-time, 10-month tenure-track Assistant Professor, beginning January 8, 2026. The CMU Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders offers undergraduate and graduate degrees and is housed within The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of Health Professions. Starting salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Attractive benefits package and research support are available.

Required Qualifications:

  • Earned terminal doctorate degree is required; ABD will be considered if it is clear the degree will be completed by start of appointment.
  • CCC-SLP is required. Licensed as an SLP in Michigan or eligible for MI licensure.
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: dysphagia, motor speech, voice, anatomy and physiology of speech. Other related areas of expertise may be considered.
  • Effective oral/written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D.
  • Clinical supervision experience.
  • Experience teaching at the university level.
  • Experience or demonstrated interest in securing extramural grants and contracts.
  • Demonstrated research agenda based on published works and/or external funding.
  • Evidence of involvement with professional associations and organizations.
