This role is at the heart of our mission to help every member of the Oxford Brookes community move, succeed, and belong. You will be responsible for helping to develop our Active Wellness Strategy, ensuring that sport and physical activity are accessible, engaging and inclusive for all students and staff.

About the Team

Sport & Active Wellness (SAW) is a newly formed Directorate responsible for delivering an outstanding and inclusive sporting experience for students, staff and the wider community. We bring together performance, participation, wellbeing and facility services to support all levels of activity. You will join a creative, fast-paced and supportive team that thrives on enterprising creativity and a shared "Generosity of Spirit" to enhance the student experience.

What will I be doing?

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Build relationships with internal departments (e.g., Brookes Union, Resi Life) and external partners to champion active wellness.

  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all activities adhere to University branding, GDPR, safeguarding, and health and safety protocols.

What skills do I need?

  • Education: Degree (or equivalent experience) in sport, communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Engagement Experience: Proven experience supporting or delivering engagement, participation, or wellness programmes.
  • Digital Proficiency: Strong skills in digital content creation and social media management to engage diverse audiences.
  • Project Management: Strong organisational skills with experience delivering events and campaigns to tight deadlines.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Data Literacy: Ability to collect and analyse data, surveys, or engagement metrics to inform decision-making.
  • EDI Knowledge: A strong understanding of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) principles.
  • Desirable: Skills in Adobe Creative Suite, photography, or videography, and experience targeting campaigns to underrepresented groups.

Based at our Headington campus, you’ll experience the vibrant campus atmosphere. The campus is one mile from the centre of Oxford and is served by regular public transport. This role offers hybrid working options, subject to business demands, with the expectation of being on-site for key events and high-activity periods.
