The Division of Humanities invites applications for a teaching-track faculty position in music at lecturer level to be filled commencing fall 2025. The appointee will mainly teach undergraduate courses in humanities for general education; participate in the development of the undergraduate major program in Global China Studies offered by the School of Humanities and Social Science; and assist in the administration of all forms of creative arts education programs supported by the division, or jointly offered with other offices and institutes of the university.
Applicants should be dynamic and energetic persons who have a doctoral degree in the field of music, such as Doctor of Musical Arts, PhD in music composition, or Doctor of Fine Arts in a related area. Preference will be given to candidates who work in the field of electronic music composition, both as practitioners and educators; have experience teaching undergraduate music courses, particularly music theory, composition, and general music appreciation; and a solid professional career as a practicing artist. The successful applicant will also be required to take part in the maintenance of studio facilities and organizing concerts and other art events on campus; relevant experience in both is advantageous. (Duration: 1 to 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract where applicable.
