Cell biology
Teaching:
Cell biology is taught in:
– in the pharmacy curriculum: in the first year of health studies and in the general training diploma in pharmaceutical sciences
– in Master 1 and Master 2. These courses are taught in French or English depending on the course concerned.
The objective is to provide with the members of the cell biology teaching team as well as the biochemistry and molecular biology teams directed teaching in the 1st year, integrated practical work in biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology in the 2nd year and to contribute to the directed teaching in free UE (3rd year) as well as in Master 1 and 2 (taught in English for the international stream).
Research:
The research activity will be carried out within the Inserm UMR-S 1193 "Physiopathogenesis and treatment of liver diseases" (dir. Dr. T Tordjmann and Prof. JC Duclos-Vallée) on the Saclay plateau site in the Henri Moissan building. The candidate will participate in work devoted to the study of the molecular and cellular mechanisms of stress response (Prof. C. Poüs team). The proposed research will explore the nature and molecular and cellular mechanisms of the relationships between the lipid droplets accumulated in the cytoplasm of hepatocytes in a steatosis situation, and the organization of three elements of the cytoskeleton (actin stress fibers, microtubules and septin filaments). The focus will be on the impact of these relationships on mechanotransduction and on the functional consequences in terms of tumor progression and chemoresistance in hepatocellular carcinomas.
