About Mirela Kuncheva

Mirela Kuncheva
Lecturer
I am a dedicated educator with extensive experience teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) across diverse age groups and proficiency levels. My academic background spans several discipline-leading institutions: I earned my Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Queen Mary University of London in London, United Kingdom; completed my formal English Language Teacher qualification at St. Cyril and Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria; and obtained my Master in Learning, Digitalization, and Sustainability from Jönköping University in Jönköping, Sweden. Throughout my teaching career, I have developed and delivered structured EFL curricula for learners ranging from primary school students (ages 7–14) to secondary school students (ages 14–18). In addition to core language skills, I have specialized experience teaching English for Specific Purposes (ESP), including technical modules covering mechanics, electronics, computing, and engineering, as well as coordinating international initiatives such as Erasmus+ programs. As a native Bulgarian speaker with C2 proficiency in English, I also speak Turkish at a B2 level in comprehension and spoken interaction (and B1 in writing), alongside basic German (A2). My ability to communicate in Turkish allows me to adapt quickly, connect naturally with students and colleagues, and navigate academic environments in Turkey with ease. By integrating modern digital tools, interactive audio-visual methods, and strong cross-cultural awareness, I strive to create engaging, effective, and supportive learning environments.
