Weather and Climate at UMYU

Umaru Musa Yar'Adua University (UMYU) is located in Katsina, Nigeria, which experiences a hot semi-arid climate. The region has two main seasons:

• Dry Season (October to April) - Characterized by high temperatures, with average highs around 35°C (95°F) and lows around 20°C (68°F). Harmattan winds can bring dust and cooler temperatures in December and January.
• Wet Season (May to September) - Marked by significant rainfall, with average precipitation ranging from 500 to 700 mm annually. Temperatures during this period are slightly cooler, with highs around 30°C (86°F).

The climate can affect commuting and campus life, with the wet season potentially causing disruptions due to heavy rains, while the dry season might pose challenges with dust and heat.
