Weather and Climate at UAM

The Universidad Autónoma de Madrid experiences a Mediterranean climate with continental influences. The weather at UAM can be described as follows:

• Summer (June to August): Hot and dry, with average temperatures ranging from 20°C to 32°C. Occasional heatwaves can push temperatures above 35°C.
• Winter (December to February): Cool to cold, with temperatures ranging from 0°C to 10°C. Snowfall is rare but can occur.
• Spring and Autumn: Mild and pleasant, with temperatures between 10°C and 20°C, though these seasons can be quite variable.
• Rainfall: Most precipitation occurs in autumn and spring, with an annual average of about 450mm.
• Extreme Weather: Occasional heatwaves in summer and cold snaps in winter can affect commuting and outdoor activities at UAM.
