Adie Graham serves as a Facilitator in Education Support Services within the College of Education at the University of Otago. Her academic qualifications include a Master of Education (MEd) from Massey University and a Diploma in Teaching (DipTchg). She maintains full teacher certification. Graham's career in education encompasses over 20 years in secondary schools, where she held positions as a reliever, classroom teacher, Head of Department, Dean, and Senior Leader. As a member of the Post Primary Teachers' Association (PPTA), she received a PPTA Study Award to complete her master's degree. Prior to joining the University of Otago, she worked at Massey University in school support services. She has been listed as staff in the University of Otago calendars from 2016 through 2023.
In her current role since 2015, Graham supports provisionally certificated teachers (PCTs), overseas-trained teachers (OTTs), and mentors across New Zealand through the PCT contract administered by Education Support Services. She has developed a strong working relationship with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand, contributing to a research project on induction and mentoring models in secondary schools that informed the development of the 'Guidelines for Induction and Mentoring and Mentor Teachers'. Graham also facilitated the New Zealand Teachers Council's national workshop series for school leaders to introduce these guidelines. Her expertise is demonstrated in her presentation at the 2023 PPTA Provisionally Certificated Teachers’ Conference on 'Moving to full (Tūturu) certification – the Induction and Mentoring process explained and clarified'. Additionally, she co-authored the 2022 publication 'Young Kiwi's Motivation to Study Science' and presented at The Future of Education conference.
