In her teaching role, Alice Hildebrand supports the primary teacher education programme by delivering specialized content in key curriculum areas. She teaches EDCR232 Science and Technology for the Invercargill cohort, covering overviews and linkages to other learning areas, curriculum structures, planning, teaching, and assessment in science and technology for primary schools. In EDCR233 Visual Arts and Music, she leads the Music (Southland) component, emphasizing inclusive approaches to teaching singing, instrumental playing, creating, and listening, as well as the role of music in identity formation. She is also involved in EDUC313 Equity in Education, which develops theoretical and practical understandings of equity, social justice, and rights. This paper focuses on inclusive pedagogies for diverse students, including those with disabilities, critical reflection on values and beliefs to address inequities, collaboration with whānau and support staff, and enactment of inclusive education frameworks. Her contributions across science, technology, arts, music, and equity prepare student teachers for diverse classroom environments in New Zealand primary schools. Alice Hildebrand is currently on leave.
