Quackenbush's scholarly contributions center on teaching and learning strategies in higher education, particularly within community colleges and political science education. In his 2013 working paper, "The Assessment of General Education Learning Outcomes in U.S. Government," published on SSRN and affiliated with Valencia College, he provides an analysis of the assessment processes for general education program learning outcomes in U.S. Government classes. This work underscores the integral role of the General Education Program in the Associate of Arts degree at Valencia College. Additionally, in the November 2006 issue of the Journal of College Teaching & Learning (Volume 3, Number 11), Quackenbush authored "Exploring The Multiple Intelligences Of Community College Students Enrolled In Online Courses." This empirical study surveyed 90 community college students enrolled in online courses during the summer of 2006, developing profiles of their multiple intelligences based on Gardner's theory. The research highlights the scarcity of prior studies on multiple intelligences at the college level, which have been primarily focused on K-12 education, and presents descriptive comparisons by gender, selected majors, and course types, along with implications and recommendations for future research. Quackenbush has further engaged with the academic community through participation in the 2015 APSA Teaching and Learning Conference.
