Amanda Collins is a Senior Professional Practice Fellow in the Division of Health Sciences at the University of Otago, Wellington. She serves as Senior Lecturer (Pūkenga Matua) in the Department of Surgery and Critical Care and holds the position of Associate Dean Medical Education, heading the Education Unit within the Faculty of Medicine.
As Associate Dean Medical Education, Amanda Collins leads the development of the MB ChB curriculum at the University of Otago Wellington campus and its regional sites. She coordinates course delivery by liaising with module convenors and the School Curriculum Committee to ensure alignment with the medical programme's objectives. The Education Unit supports professional development, confirmation path processes, and educationally focussed research. Her qualifications are FACEM, MBChB, PGDipMedEd, DCH, PGCertCPU. She co-authored 'Gender equity in authorship of emergency medicine publications in Australasia' (Emergency Medicine Australasia, 2025).
