Dr. Amy Myers-Eisnaugle is an Assistant Professor of Nursing and Chair of the Nursing Department in the School of Professional Programs at Franciscan University of Steubenville. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (D.N.P.) from the University of South Alabama, Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.) with a focus as Educational Specialist from Walden University, Post-Master’s Certification as Clinical Nurse Specialist from the University of South Alabama, Post-Master’s Certification as Family Nurse Practitioner from Franciscan University of Steubenville, and Associate Degree in Nursing Science (A.D.N.) from Kent State University. Board-certified as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC), Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist (ACNS-BC), and Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurse (CGRN), she possesses comprehensive clinical expertise in advanced nursing practice.
In her leadership role, Dr. Myers-Eisnaugle oversees the Nursing Department, which is dedicated to preparing generalists and advanced practice nurses supportive of Catholic and Christian values, emphasizing the dignity of the human person, healing ministry, evidence-based practice, and professional standards. Under her chairmanship, the department offers the Nursing Major for baccalaureate preparation, Master of Science in Nursing with Family Nurse Practitioner specialization, BSN to MSN Bridge Program, RN to MSN Program, and Post-Master’s Certificate Program. These programs, including the baccalaureate, master’s, and post-graduate APRN certificate, are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), with Dr. Myers-Eisnaugle serving as Chief Nurse Administrator. Her professional experience includes serving as an Evidence Based Mentor, Past President of the Alaska APRN Alliance, Mosby Content Expert, and Director of Digestive Health. She has lectured at national conferences, published articles in magazines and books, and developed community programs and services. As a key faculty member in both undergraduate and graduate nursing education, she contributes to academic excellence and the integration of faith with professional nursing practice at Franciscan University.
