Andrea La Nauze is an Associate Professor of Economics in the Deakin Business School, Faculty of Business and Law at Deakin University. Her research focuses on environmental and energy economics, utilizing observational, survey, and experimental data to examine consumer behavior, energy markets, and policy impacts. She received her PhD from the University of Melbourne in 2017. Previously, she served as a Lecturer and Senior Research Fellow at the University of Queensland, where she was also affiliated with the Australian Institute for Business and Economics. La Nauze holds an Honorary Senior Research Fellow position at the University of Queensland, is a Westpac Fellow, and serves as a Research Affiliate at CESifo in Munich. She leads the Virtual Energy Network research study at Deakin University, investigating consumer-side challenges in the energy transition.
La Nauze's key publications include 'Power from the People: Rooftop Solar and a Downward-Sloping Supply of Electricity' (2019), analyzing the effects of rooftop solar adoption on electricity supply; 'Air Pollution and Adult Cognition: Evidence from Brain Training,' co-authored with Edson Severnini; 'Challenges in the Consumer-Side of the Energy Transition' (2024), with Flavio Menezes; 'Do Consumers Acquire Information Optimally? Her research appears in prominent outlets such as the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management and contributes to understanding energy policy, pollution effects, and behavioral responses in environmental contexts. At Deakin, she engages in teaching and supervision in economics.
