Angela Calandra is a Lecturer in Experiential Development and Graduate Education in the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Monash University. She earned her Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) from Monash University in 1992. In May 2002, she joined the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the Victorian College of Pharmacy, part of Monash University, to assist with the delivery of the Monash Pre-registration course. She continues to work part-time in community pharmacy. Her teaching responsibilities encompass coordinating the Dermatology elective unit (PGC5113) for the Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice, lecturing in the Bachelor of Pharmacy program, and involvement in the Monash University Pharmacy Internship program. Calandra is affiliated with the Centre for Medication Use and Safety. She has undertaken external academic engagement through grant review responsibilities since 25 November 2011.
Calandra's publications include "Using volunteer simulated patients in development of pre-registration pharmacists: learning from the experience" published in Pharmacy Education (2007, co-authored with Debra Nestel and Rohan A. Elliott), "Balancing the scales - one woman’s weight loss: a disease state management case study" in Pharmacy News (2008), "Scratching the surface" in Pharmacy News (2009), and "A pharmacy preregistration course using online teaching and learning methods" in American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education (2009, co-authored with Rohan A. Elliott, Jenny M. McDowell, Jennifer L. Marriott, and Gregory J. Duncan). In 2012, she co-received the Faculty Award for Programs that Enhance Student Learning with Kate Galbraith, Lisa Dean, Michelle Vienet, Elizabeth Morabito, and Jenny Penno. Calandra serves on the Faculty Diversity and Inclusion Committee and is a member of the Ally Network, having completed Ally Training. Her research activity is recorded for the years 2007 and 2009.
