Aron Downie is a chiropractor, health researcher, and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chiropractic at Macquarie University, Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences. He completed his PhD at the University of Sydney Medical School. His research interests center on recovery from spinal pain and the accuracy of screening tools for detecting pathology in people presenting with back pain. Affiliated with the Spinal Pain Research Centre at Macquarie University, Downie has established himself as a prominent figure in chiropractic research and education. He serves as unit convenor for several chiropractic science courses, including CHIR3106 Chiropractic Science 6 and CHIR3105 Chiropractic Science 5, contributing to the training of future chiropractors.
Downie's academic output includes over 60 research publications, encompassing 38 articles, 12 reviews, and other contributions, with more than 2,280 citations reflecting his influence in the field.
