About Bert

Bert De Reyck is Dean and Professor at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University. He holds a PhD in Business Economics from the University of Leuven, Belgium (1998), an MSc in Business Information Systems from the University of Leuven (1992), and a BSc in Business Engineering from the University of Leuven (1991). Prior to his current role, which began in 2021, he served as Founding Director and Professor at the UCL School of Management, University College London (2015–2021), Professor and Head of Department in the Department of Management Science & Innovation at University College London (2009–2015), and held various faculty positions at London Business School, including Associate Professor (2001–2007) and Assistant Professor (1999–2001). He has also been a visiting professor at institutions including the University of Ghent, Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, and others.

His research focuses on operations management, project management and planning, business analytics, applications of AI, and transportation management. De Reyck has received numerous awards, including the AAS Best Paper Award from INFORMS (2022), multiple finalists for the Daniel H. Wagner Prize for Excellence in Operations Research Practice from INFORMS, the Decision Analysis Society Best Publication Award from INFORMS (2013), and several teaching awards such as the MBA Best Teacher Award at London Business School. Key publications include articles in Management Science, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, INFORMS Journal on Applied Analytics, and Operations Research, addressing topics such as project portfolio management, licensing contracts, airport operations analytics, and R&D project valuation. He has supervised multiple PhD students and contributed to editorial boards and university committees.
