Chen Wang is a Senior Professional Practice Fellow in eLearning at the University of Otago, working within the Education Unit at the Wellington campus and serving as an Educational Designer at the Centre for Educational Design and Innovation (CEDI). Holding qualifications including a BIS, MSE from Beijing, and MA from the University of Auckland, she joined the university in 2021. Her professional responsibilities encompass delivering comprehensive digital learning professional development programs for teaching staff and students. She emphasizes research-informed practical solutions that integrate educational technologies, data analysis, and research methodologies to develop interactive, adaptive, and inclusive learning environments. Previously listed as an e-Learning Facilitator and Clinical Education Adviser in university calendars, her career at Otago reflects a commitment to advancing pedagogical practices through technology.
Chen Wang's research interests span educational technology, learning analytics, self-regulated learning, online and distance education, digital literacy, assessment, feedback, and learning design. She co-authored the 2023 publication 'Analytics-Informed Design: Exploring Visualization of Learning Management Systems Recorded Data for Learning Design' in SAGE Open, contributing to evidence-based advancements in eLearning. As a member representative on the executive committee of the Open Digital Lifelong Learning Association of Aotearoa (ODLAA), she supports initiatives in digital learning. Additionally, she serves as one of six Kaikōkiri leaders for the university-wide Kōkiri Ki Tua project, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, disseminating effective teaching and learning practices, and championing projects to enhance educational experiences for staff and students.
