Christine Damico serves as an adjunct professor in the Department of Finance, Insurance, and Business Law within Virginia Tech's Pamplin College of Business. She holds a B.S. in Finance from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, earned in May 2010 with cum laude honors and a minor in Leadership through a CFP Board Registered Program. Damico obtained her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation in November 2012 and IRS Enrolled Agent status in May 2016. Since August 2017, she has taught FIN 3124: Financial Planning for Professionals to juniors and seniors, emphasizing the financial needs of individuals, households, and small business owners. Her teaching methods incorporate in-class mock client meetings and out-of-class assignments such as writing client letters and delivering recommendations via phone and in-person presentations. She also reviews student resumes and cover letters, providing guidance on negotiation strategies to secure internships and full-time positions in financial planning. In her professional career, Damico has been Director of Human Capital and Financial Planner at OLIO Financial Planning in Tysons Corner, VA, since October 2017, where she leads advisory teams in implementing life planning techniques to meet client goals. Previously, she served as Client Advisor at Glassman Wealth Services in Vienna, VA, from December 2014 to June 2017, managing client relationships and expanding services to include comprehensive financial planning. Earlier, from June 2010 to June 2014, she was a Financial Planning Resident at Cornerstone Wealth Advisors in Minneapolis, MN, developing recommendations across cash flow, asset protection, investment, retirement, estate, income tax, and education planning.
Damico received the Pamplin Rising Young Alum Award in 2018. She is a long-standing member of the Financial Planning Association since Fall 2008, having served on the National Capital Area Board of Directors for social events from December 2016 to December 2017, where she organized a charity golf tournament raising over $11,000 and six networking happy hours. She participated in National FPA Advocacy Day in June 2015 and 2016 to advocate for fiduciary standards. Damico spoke at the National Annual Experience Conference in 2013 on “Ready. Set. Go! The Four-Year Launching of a Gen Y Financial Advisor” and in 2012 on creating multi-year financial planning residencies. She mentored participants in Virginia Tech’s Women in Financial Planning Mentorship Program from 2015 to 2017 and acted as a subject matter expert for the CFP Board Certification Exam in 2016.
