Associate Professor Cindy Wang serves in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, College of Health, Medicine and Wellbeing, at the University of Newcastle, Australia. Hailing from Taiwan, she completed her Master's degree and Doctor of Philosophy at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane over nearly eight years. A registered nurse, Wang accumulated clinical experience as a registered nurse at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, Australia, from August 2006 to July 2007, and at Taichung Veteran General Hospital in Taichung, Taiwan, from November 1995 to September 1997. Her academic career includes overseas roles in tertiary education for more than ten years prior to returning to Australia in 2019. Key appointments encompass Senior Lecturer at The University of New England from November 2019 to August 2024, Assistant Professor at Asia University in Taichung, Taiwan from August 2016 to July 2017, Assistant Professor at Hungkuang University in Taichung, Taiwan from August 2007 to July 2016, Lecturer at Queensland University of Technology from July 2003 to July 2004, Research Assistant at Griffith University from February 2004 to July 2005, and Clinical Instructor at Hungkuang University from January 1998 to August 2000.
Wang's research interests focus on cancer nursing, chronic illness patients and families, complementary and alternative medicine, grounded theory, mixed methods, online learning, palliative care, qualitative research, and systematic reviews.
