Daniel Seller is a Professional Practice Fellow in the School of Physiotherapy, Faculty of Health Professional Programmes, Health Sciences Division at the University of Otago. He is based at the Northern Centre in Wellington, where he serves as a clinical educator. Seller also holds the position of Expert Physiotherapist in Critical Care at Wellington Hospital, part of Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley. His academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Physiotherapy with Honours from the University of Melbourne and a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Sydney. Appointed to the University of Otago in 2017, Seller contributes to teaching and clinical practice in physiotherapy, with a focus on intensive care environments.
Seller's research examines mobilization strategies and rehabilitation outcomes for critically ill patients, including those with acute respiratory failure, diabetes, lung cancer, and blunt chest trauma. He is a co-author on secondary analyses from the TEAM (Trial of Early Activity and Mobilization) randomized clinical trial and related studies.
