David Cowdrey serves as Lecturer in Networking within the School of Computer Science and Information Technology, part of the College of Engineering and Information Technology at Adelaide University. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering from the University of South Australia between 2016 and 2019. His academic and professional trajectory demonstrates a strong foundation in information technology, bridging industry experience with educational roles. Cowdrey's career includes serving as Lecturer A in Network and Cyber Security at the University of South Australia since 2024. From 2019 to 2025, he contributed as IT Support for the Southern Hemisphere Space Studies Program at the University of South Australia. Prior to that, between 2019 and 2024, he held positions as Tutor and Practical Supervisor at the University of South Australia. In the private sector, he was Managing Director of IT Outlooks PTY LTD from 2011 to 2013 and Systems Administrator at Priority Engineering from 2001 to 2011. These roles have equipped him with extensive practical knowledge in networking, systems administration, and IT management, which he brings to his current lecturing duties.
In his teaching portfolio at Adelaide University, David Cowdrey instructs several key courses essential for computing and networking education.
