Dr. Ganka Ivanova is an Assistant Professor in the College of Interdisciplinary Studies at Zayed University. She holds a PhD in Psychology awarded in 2016 by Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" in Bulgaria. Dr. Ivanova has resided in Abu Dhabi, UAE, since 2008 and brings extensive experience in higher education, research, training, psychometric assessment project management, capability analysis and development, learning program quality control, licensing, and institutional effectiveness. She has supported various UAE government projects involving the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Education, Abu Dhabi Education Council, and Khalifa program, and has initiated international research projects utilizing psychometric assessment tools. Over the course of her career, Dr. Ivanova has taught more than 5,000 students, engaging them in corporate social responsibility events, exhibitions, and other opportunities supporting government development priorities.
Dr. Ivanova is a Chartered Psychologist (CPsychol) registered with the British Psychological Society at the highest level and holds Level A and P certifications from the same body. She is a Full Member of the European Association of Aviation Psychology and a Registered Community Colleges Member of the American Psychological Association. Additional certifications include Hogan assessments, MBTI assessments, Saville Wave abilities and personality assessments, MTQ+ and ILM assessments, as well as City and Guilds UK certifications in training projects management and quality control, including Certified SAT manager, ILM Quality Assurance, and ILM assessor. She is also a CIPD member and a certified KPI practitioner. Since 2022, Dr. Ivanova has participated in a global cross-cultural study research team involving over 85 universities worldwide, contributing data via a psychometric assessment tool developed by psychologists at AQR International, UK, with the aim of producing a global competency mapping book. Her teaching areas include social psychology, psychometric assessments, health psychology, and cross-cultural psychology. Key publications include works on cognitive deficits in people living with HIV and AIDS (2023), teamworking and employability readiness among UAE students (2022), digital access as a social determinant of health (2022), the role of happiness in suggestopedia and language learning (2021), and a systematic review on breast cancer patient intervals in low- and middle-income countries (2023).
