Gregory Adkins, known professionally as G. Matthew Adkins, serves as a Professor of History in the Humanities Department at Columbus State Community College, where he specializes in European History. He holds a B.A. in History from Illinois State University, an M.A. in History of Science from the University of Florida, and a Ph.D. in Early Modern European History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Adkins joined Columbus State Community College around 2010 as an instructor in the Humanities Department and has progressed to the rank of Professor, marking 15 years of service by 2025. Adkins' academic interests center on intellectual history and early modern Europe, with a particular emphasis on the French Enlightenment.
