Hannah Nguyen is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Banking and Finance at Monash Business School, Monash University. She completed her Ph.D. at the University of Queensland and joined Monash University in 2015. Prior to that, she earned a Master of Business Research in Finance at the University of Adelaide, where she was awarded the Executive Dean's Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement twice and received the University Medal for her undergraduate study. Her career includes teaching in Corporate Finance, Derivatives, Credit Analysis, and Financial Institutions Management. She received a Dean's Commendation for Teaching Excellence in 2016 and a Vice-Chancellor's Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning in 2017.
Hannah Nguyen's research interests are in financial institutions, venture capital, climate finance, empirical asset pricing, environmental finance, and risk management. Her publications include articles in Review of Accounting Studies, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, International Review of Finance, and Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics. She has received best paper awards, including Best Paper in Sustainable Finance (2024), Bureau Van Dijk prize for the best paper in Corporate Finance/Corporate Governance/Institutional Block Holders (2019), and others in 2018 and 2017. Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goal 13: Climate Action.
