Dr. Helen Hui Ping Ho is a Lecturer at the Malaysia School of Business, Monash University. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Management, specializing in women's entrepreneurship, from Monash University Malaysia, along with a Postgraduate Diploma in Business and Commerce from the same institution. Additionally, she holds an MBA in Business Administration and a combined BSc/BA in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska Lincoln. Before entering academia, Ho occupied key administrative and management positions in higher education institutions, where she offered strategic direction to registrar's offices, spearheaded academic curricula development, supported continuing education programs, and fostered ties with international universities and colleges for student recruitment.
Ho's academic interests encompass women's entrepreneurship, sustainable livelihoods, sustainable work performance, gender studies, wellbeing, and resilience, with a focus on entrepreneurship in emerging economies, gender in work and organizations, sustainability, and qualitative research methodologies including interviews, thematic analysis, and interpretive methods. Her notable awards include the Best Full Paper Award (Entrepreneurship Track) at the British Academy of Management in 2016, the 2025 HASS Grant, Monash University Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences Grant Scheme 2025, School of Business Excellence Awards 2025 for Research Excellence, and the School of Business Research Seed Grant 2024. Key publications feature "Exploring the impact of network brokerage behavior in mutual fund retail markets" (2025, International Journal of Retail & Distribution Management), "Exploring undiscovered country: AI-empowered collective and collaborative epistemic reflexivity (i-CCER)" (2025, Journal of Marketing Management), "From assistant to collaborator: getting the most out of GenAI" (2025, International Journal of Market Research), "Gender disparities in technology entrepreneurship and implications for global innovation" (2025, The Palgrave Handbook of Global Social Problems), and "Gender inequality in entrepreneurship: challenges, opportunities, and recommendations" (2025). She teaches MGW3230 Organisational Behaviour and Change, MGM5966 International Business Theory & Practice, and MGM5181 International Business Strategy. Ho serves as a member of the IEEE Technology and Management Society and the Academy of Management, and leads research projects such as "Empowering from Within: Evaluating the Effectiveness of WOW’s Mentorship Program and Entrepreneurship Development Program for B40 Women Entrepreneurs as Community Leaders in Malaysia". She is open to supervising PhD students.
